
PETALING JAYA: National women’s doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan-M Thinaah cruised into the Arctic Open quarter-finals with an easy win over an Indonesian pair.
The world No 2 pair beat the new combination of Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma-Meilysa Trias Puspita Sari 21-15, 21- 13 in 38 minutes at the Energia Areena in Vantaa, Finland.
Pearly-Thinaah, who were last year’s runners-up, will meet the winners of the tie between French pair Margot Lambert-Camille Pognante and Taiwan’s Hsu Yin Hui-Lin Jhih Yun.
Malaysian players will feature in one mixed doubles and three men’s doubles second round matches later tonight.
