PETALING JAYA:
World No 3 men’s doubles shuttlers Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani are through to the quarter-finals of the China Masters after defeating Taiwan’s top pair Lee Jhe Huei-Yang Po Hsuan 21-16, 22-20.

The Malaysians took 35 minutes to defeat their Taiwanese opponents at the Shenzhen Arena today, their fourth win over the world No 12 pair in their six encounters so far.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin will take on either China’s Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang or Indonesian pair Fajar Alfian-Muhammad Shohibul Fikri in tomorrow’s quarter-finals.

The Malaysian pair have only reached two finals this year, winning one of them – the India Open in January.

The Malaysians have endured multiple early exits this year, including two first-round defeats.
