In a Facebook update, BAM said the decision was made following a request from both players and after extensive discussions between them and the coaching team.
“The duo, who previously achieved a career-high world ranking of No 3, will now refocus their efforts on the international stage as they look to reclaim their top form,” said BAM.
The duo will lace up together again at the Singapore Open from May 27–June 1.
On March 28, BAM said it had decided to split the mixed doubles pair based on the recommendation of its coaching panel, which included doubles coaching director Rexy Mainaky and mixed doubles head coach Nova Widianto.
Nova previously said Tang Jie-Ee Wei had been temporarily suspended from tournaments due to their strained ties.
He said the pair’s relationship had soured since their Olympics debut in Paris last year, where they lost in the quarter-finals.
Ee Wei also deleted all of her Instagram photos with Tang Jie after their loss in the first round of the 2025 All England, reinforcing speculation of a rift between them.
