Datasonic bags RM81mil contract extensions from home ministry

The group says the contract covers JPN maintenance and supplies of MyKad, MyTentera, and MyPOCA cards.

Datasonic Group Bhd has secured two letters of extension (LOEs) from the home ministry, valued at RM81.38 million.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Datasonic said the first LOE pertains to the contract extension for maintenance services at the card personalisation centres of the national registration department (JPN).

The contract commences from Dec 1, 2024, to Nov 30, 2025, for an additional fourth ceiling contract value of RM21.39 million, inclusive of an 8% sales and service tax.

The group said the second LOE involves the supply of MyKad, MyTentera, and MyPOCA raw cards, along with related consumables, to JPN.

This contract is also for 12 months, from Dec 1, 2024, to Nov 30, 2025, with an additional second ceiling contract value of RM59.85 million.

Datasonic noted that these contracts are expected to contribute positively to its future earnings and net assets per share for the financial year ending March 31, 2025.
