PETALING JAYA: Bursa Malaysia is reinstating full-day trading on the eve of Chinese New Year on Feb 9, a departure from half-day trading previously.
The change in hours will also apply for the eve of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Bernama reported.
Bursa Malaysia said the move is aimed at improving investor access to the market ahead of festive holidays.
While trading hours would remain as usual for both securities and derivatives markets, there will be no T+1 night trading sessions on the eve of both major holidays.
Bursa and its subsidiaries will be closed on Feb 12 in conjunction with the national public holiday for Chinese New Year. “The exchange and its subsidiaries will resume operations on Feb 13.”
