The coalition said they were informed by TV3 only at 10.11pm, nine minutes before the telecast was supposed to go on air.
In a Facebook posting, PN quoted a purported email from the TV station, and said it was sorry for the inconvenience and had uploaded the video on Facebook instead.
According to a screenshot of the email put on PN’s Facebook page, PN’s Takbir Raya video could not be aired due to a “technical issue”. The email, which has had its sender details blocked out, states that a refund would be processed.
It also “looked forward” to working with PN in the future.
The video features Muhyiddin and Bagan Serai MP Idris Ahmad of PAS chanting the “takbir Raya” recital, along with PN leaders expressing their Raya wishes.
Had the video been aired, it would be one of the rare occasions when a paid advertisement by an opposition political party had been broadcast on Malaysian television.
TV3 is part of Media Prima group, which also owns 8TV, NTV7, TV9, three commercial radio stations, and New Straits Times Press.
