Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF) vice-president Amarjit Singh Gill said the federation was informed about the police report and had launched an investigation.
“MNCF’s disciplinary committee will investigate (this allegation) thoroughly,” he said in a tweet.
“In the meantime, the coach has been suspended with immediate effect pending investigations to ensure there is no interference during the investigation.”
He added that the federation would cooperate with the youth and sports ministry, National Sports Council and other government agencies in their independent investigation.
“MNCF will not compromise on the safety and welfare of its cyclists and has zero tolerance for any form of sexual harassment or any other act that is stipulated in the Safe Sport Code,” he said.
Earlier this month, youth and sports minister Hannah Yeoh said her ministry would introduce the code to deal with sexual harassment, bullying and violence.
The code, which includes guidelines for conduct, will be used to handle complaints about sexual harassment in the sports industry before it is replaced by the Safe Sports Act in the future.
