PETALING JAYA:
MyEG Services Bhd clarified today that it has not met with the government to discuss converging all immigration processes under the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe).

The company was responding to a statement by immigration director-general Khairul Dzaimee Daud that immigration services and processes will be fully back under the department’s management by 2025.

“The board of directors of the company wishes to clarify that the company has not held any meeting with either the ministry of home affairs or immigration department on the intention to converge all immigration transactions under the NIISe.

“The board will release the necessary announcements in a timely manner to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad should there be any material information which falls under the Main Market Listing Requirements,” it said in a Bursa filing today.

The NIISe will involve the integration of databases of more than 20 agencies in the country, including the police and the national registration department (JPN).

Khairul said it would be easier to apply for passports, with the integrated database allowing the department to verify any information with the JPN.

“NIISe will replace all immigration transactions, including visa, work permit and passport applications and renewals, as well as checks at airports and ports,” he said.
