
The higher margins and growth have been attributed to the specialty chemicals business that it acquired last year.
Revenue for the quarter rose to RM153.63 million, a 33.8% improvement over the RM114.82 million reported the previous year.
According to the group’s filing to Bursa Malaysia, barring any unforeseen circumstances it is optimistic on its business prospects for 2022, as international borders start opening up with the easing of Covid-19 containment measures.
It stated that the agriculture segment will continue efforts to improve market share and to continuously develop new products to improve its competitive advantage, building on the historical results it had seen in FY2021.
With the specialty chemicals segment, Hextar anticipates the market will continue to grow on the back of increasing industrial production and recovery of tourism which will lead to a higher demand for specialty chemicals.
As for its consumer product segment, it aims to enlarge its product range to grow its market share in tandem with rising consumer confidence.
“The board is confident that the management team is executing the strategic plans in order to continuously create long-term shareholder value,” it added in its statement.
