
According to the Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) Facebook page, it is Malaysia’s first medal in this category at the championship.
MTBC secretary-general Maradona Chok said the duo won with an outstanding finish, matching the strikes of the German team in the 9th and 10th frame roll-off and finishing it with four strikes for a 60-58 win.
“The first-ever gold medal from our women’s 50+ category through Michelle Wong and Sandra Periasamy in an epic manner with nerves of steel completes Malaysia’s gold quest from juniors to elite to seniors.
“It is an honour to have led this team to the IBF Master World Championships and seen the passion and the fight put up by each and everyone in the team.
“Stand proud knowing that we came to Dubai and created history as a team,” he said in his post after the championship.
