The National Sports Council (NSC) said police found no criminal element in the case and classified it as “no further action” (NFA).

Subramaniam Raghavan had in his police report claimed Rusfredy verbally abused his daughter Dhaassheni in front of the national team while allegedly intoxicated.

NSC director-general Ahmad Shapawi Ismail conveyed the decision to NFA the matter in a letter to the legal firm of Suraj Singh & Co, which is representing Subramaniam.

Rusfredy is expected to resume training the national squad next month after being suspended on May 3 pending police investigations.

He said yesterday he was open to meeting Subramaniam to explain the incident to him, provided the NSC approved of it.

Subramaniam, in welcoming the offer, said his lawyers will seek the assistance of Shapawi to arrange a meeting between them, the NSC and Taekwondo Malaysia (TM).

He said he was hoping for an apology from Rusfredy and an assurance from the NSC and TM that such incidents would not recur.

“I am determined to see my daughter bring more glory for Malaysia and hope nothing stands in her way,” he added.
