Seasoned online shoppers may have come across a certain listing for brand new cars on Shopee back in 2019, complete with striking photos of the vehicles to attract their attention.
And while Shopee does offer a wide range of automotive parts and products on its platform, even the most informed user wouldn’t think that they had a chance to ‘shop’ for a brand new car there.
Fortunately, this feat is now made possible by the Shopee One Or Not campaign first introduced in March 2019, as part of the shopping platform’s 27.3 Mega Sale.
“The concept of the One Or Not game is straightforward; there will be a host of attractive items such as cars, motorcycles, televisions, smartphones, air fryers, soundbars, jewellery and more that are listed at a marked down price of RM1,” said Shopee regional managing director, Ian Ho.
He also told FMT that the larger the campaign, the grander the prizes. Hence, in line with the world’s biggest e-commerce shopping festival that is 11.11, Shopee has included the highly raved-about and all-new Proton X50 SUV as the grand prize this time around.
So, if you’re hoping to snag a new ride in time for Christmas this year, hop on to the Shopee Games button on the homepage of the Shopee App, or manually search for ‘Proton X50’ and add it to your cart.
Once you’ve ‘bought’ the car for RM1 via the ShopeePay e-wallet, your transaction and order will then be processed.
Winners will be picked at random, and the lucky buyer will be alerted via push notification.
If luck is not on your side, fret not as your RM1 will be refunded within 15 minutes.
Just in case you were thinking that there would be no way that somebody had actually won a car from this game, think again.
“We have rewarded about 3,000 Shopee users since March 2019 through One Or Not,” said Ian, before adding that a Honda City and a Toyota Vios were the grand prizes for the 9.9 and 11.11 campaigns respectively in 2019.
Plus, there were also 18 units for Honda Wave Dash that were given away daily during their 11.11 campaign last year.

“The winner will be announced on Nov 12 at 12pm,” Ian said, which leaves you with more than enough time to try your luck.
