Vietnam lift AFF Cup after beating Malaysia

Vietnam today dashed Malaysia’s hopes of lifting the AFF Cup for the second time, after beating them on aggregate in the final in Hanoi today.

Malaysia last won the regional competition in 2010, beating Indonesia 4-2 on aggregate.

In tonight’s match, Vietnam won the title for the second time after 2008, defeating Malaysia 1-0 in the second leg of the final at the My Dinh National Stadium.

The sole goal was scored by Nguyen Anh Duc in the sixth minute.

Vietnam won 3-2 on aggregate, after both teams drew 2-2 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Dec 11.
