PETALING JAYA:
AirAsia’s logistics vertical, Teleport, has launched five unique services to help customers handle their cargo.

Teleport chief operating officer Adrian Loretz said freight forwarders, charter companies and shippers could now opt for the specialised service based on their cargo needs.

This included Teleport Charter, which offers highly customisable charter services where businesses could book whole or partial or combo aircraft space with flexible routing and schedule.

“Besides that, we have Teleport Priority. It ensures that high priority cargo is at the top of the list and will always have access to capacity,” he said at the company’s launch of its specialised cargo services.

Thirdly, Loretz said Teleport Pharma was another service that provided transportation of pharmaceutical goods.

“With specialised temperature control and care before, during and after the flight, dedicated on-ground handling and while adhering to International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) temperature control regulations, your pharmaceutical goods will travel safely with Teleport to your desired destination,” he said.

Loretz added that perishables could now be flown across the company’s network by using Teleport Fresh.

It comes with specialised on-ground handling following the IATA’s perishable cargo regulations, with optional add-ons such as a cold room and active temperature-controlled containers to ensure perishables stay fresh from take-off to touchdown.

“Lastly, ship live animals with no paws harmed with Teleport Live,” Loretz said.

“With IATA’s live animal regulations, specialised, expedited on-ground handling and also housing containers, Teleport Live offers peace of mind for animal owners, as the transportation and handling are done with extensive care,” he added.

Loretz said that with the introduction of the specialised cargo services, the company aimed to provide customers with a range of tailor-made and consistently high-quality services.

He said Teleport was able to offer extended connectivity through its passenger network across all six airlines under AirAsia and cargo-only network, which covers 130 destinations, further strengthening its growth and mission to move things better across Southeast Asia.
