
KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia opened lower on Wednesday, tracking weak Wall Street cues as investor sentiment remained cautious over the prolonged US government shutdown.
At 9.10am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 6.83 points, or 0.42%, to 1,623.20, after closing at 1,630.03 on Tuesday.
The benchmark opened 1.88 points lower at 1,628.15.
Market breadth was negative, with 219 decliners and 121 gainers. A total of 284 counters were unchanged, 1,960 untraded, and eight suspended.
Turnover stood at 167.20 million units, valued at RM78.31 million.
