PETALING JAYA:
SNS Network Technology Bhd, in collaboration with Nvidia, has launched a fully managed, local artificial intelligence (AI) cloud infrastructure service in Malaysia to support local and regional enterprises, government bodies, and academia across industries.

In a statement, the company said the facility is powered by 64 Nvidia Hopper graphic processing units (GPU) across eight Dell PowerEdge XE9680 servers (AI factory), with Nvidia Quantum-2 InfiniBand networking and Nvidia AI Enterprise software.

SNS Network said it offers an AI factory to accelerate AI adoption among enterprises in Malaysia and foster industry growth and talent development.

“It provides high-performance computing through GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) via training programmes and proof-of-concept (POC) activities,” it said.

Located in Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s (TM) Klang Valley data centre in Cyberjaya, the AI factory would dedicate 50% of its accelerated computing capacity to commercial workloads.

“The remaining capacity will be reserved for activities aimed at fostering AI growth, including POCs, industry training, bootcamps, and hackathons,” it added.

SNS Network said the GPUaaS AI factory features local hosting, which provides data sovereignty and compliance with Malaysia’s data privacy and security regulations.

Its managing director Ko Yun Hung said the scalable service offering provides technology developers with access to cutting-edge AI infrastructure without the intensive capital expenditure and allows flexibility to technology developers to scale their computing needs on demand.

“More crucially for the growth of the AI industry in the country, SNS Network’s AI factory ecosystem aligns with Malaysia’s aspirations to foster innovation, talent growth and ethical AI development through training programmes, enterprise AI projects and the community bootcamps and hackathons.

“This initiative will democratise access to AI infrastructure, allowing enterprises and institutions to harness AI’s full potential.

“GPUaaS is a natural progression for SNS Network, building on our expertise in supplying AI super servers tailored to our clients’ needs,” Ko said.

He said the company’s first-mover advantage positions it well to capture growth opportunities along the AI data centre value chain.

“With rising demand, we are committed to expanding our capabilities and driving AI adoption in Malaysia,” Ko added.
