KUALA LUMPUR:
Technology stocks led active counters on Bursa Malaysia amid a mixed performance on the local bourse.

At 12.10pm, Genetec Technology Bhd surged 4 sen to RM1.21 with 51.51 million shares traded, scaling up from the recent low of 69 sen.

With the conclusion of the US presidential election, the group believes that the period of uncertainty is now behind it.

“Projects put on hold previously have now continued and we are busy catching up on those projects, while at the same time, we have received many new requests for proposals from our clients,” Genetec said in its results announcement recently.

“Notion Vtec Bhd gained 5 sen to RM1.25, after its 2024 financial year (FY2024) core profit after tax and minority interests (Patami) jumped to RM56.3 million, exceeding consensus forecasts,” Hong Leong Investment Bank (HLIB) said in a note.

The positive surprise was primarily driven by stronger-than-expected sales, particularly in the hard disk drive and electronics manufacturing services (EMS) segments.

Looking ahead to FY2025, HLIB expects Notion Vtec to sustain its upward momentum, with stronger performance anticipated in the EMS and automotive segments.

Microlink Solutions Bhd eased 2.5 sen to 9 sen as the company suffered a net loss of RM85.1 million in Q2 FY2025 despite posting a better revenue of RM112.8 million.
