PETALING JAYA:
Xin Hwa Holdings Bhd’s cargo transport unit has had its goods vehicle operator licence suspended by the Johor Bahru Land Public Transport Agency (Apad).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the logistics company said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Xin Hwa Trading & Transport Sdn Bhd (XHTT), received a notice from Apad regarding the suspension on Nov 4, 2024.

“The suspension will take effect from Nov 13, 2024, to Feb 10, 2025, or until XHTT achieves full compliance with the Code of Practice for Industrial Safety (ICOP-Keselamatan),” it said.

During the suspension period, XHTT would not be permitted to operate or provide any services using any vehicles covered under the terms of its operator license.

XHTT intends to submit a formal written appeal regarding the suspension and hopes to have it lifted as soon as possible to enable its operations to resume without compromising safety standards.

As at 5pm, Xin Hwa’s share price remained unchanged at 18.5 sen, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM47 million.
