
At 3pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI increased by 1.24 points to 1,603.12 from Wednesday’s close of 1,601.88.
The index had opened 10.82 points lower at 1,591.06.
On the broader market, decliners beat gainers 538 to 368, while 464 counters were unchanged, 1,005 untraded, and 30 suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.42 billion units valued at RM1.44 billion.
SD Guthrie rose 16 sen to RM4.76, YTL Power added nine sen to RM3.20, and Public Bank gained two sen to RM4.44, while Maybank fell two sen to RM10.48 and CIMB slid five sen to RM7.94.
Among the active counters, Bina Puri shed 3.5 sen to 32.5 sen and MYEG edged up one sen to 84.5 sen. Talam, Northeast and TWL were all flat at two sen, 66 sen and 2.5 sen, respectively.
On the index board, the FBM Emas Index climbed 11.52 points to 12,114.75, the FBMT 100 Index added 12.93 points to 11,827.03, the FBM Emas Shariah Index went up 17.66 points to 12,079.82 and the FBM 70 Index rose 33.28 points to 17,636.15; while the FBM ACE Index trimmed 26.30 points to 4,979.35.
Sector-wise, the plantation index jumped 118.91 points to 7,372.68 and the energy index inched up 6.13 points to 841.38, while the financial services index shaved off 59.98 points to 19,026.70, and the industrial products and services index reduced 1.19 points to 172.98.
