UZMA secures three-year contract from ExxonMobil

Uzma Engineering is expected to provide non-rig-assisted electric wireline logging equipment and services in West Malaysian waters.

Uzma Engineering has secured a three-year contract with ExxonMobil, running from May 3, 2024, to May 2, 2027.
PETALING JAYA:
Uzma Bhd’s subsidiary Uzma Engineering Sdn Bhd has clinched a contract from ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc (EMEPMI) to provide non-rig assisted (NRA) electric wireline logging (EWL) equipment and services in West Malaysian waters.

The provider of oil and gas support services said the three-year contract runs from May 3, 2024, until May 2, 2027.

“The value of this enabling contract with no guarantee of call-offs shall be based upon the agreed rates and work order, if any, issued by EMEPMI within the contract period,” Uzma said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

It said the scope of work comprises NRA EWL equipment and services, including technical consultancy and provision of electric-line units, logging services, tractoring, and perforation interchangeable between different conveyances.

Uzma said potential risk factors include project operational and execution risks, work schedules, delivery timelines, and adverse weather conditions.

“The contract will not have any effect on the share capital and shareholding structure of the company as it does not involve the issuance of ordinary shares in the company.

“However, it is expected to contribute positively towards the company’s earnings and net assets per share for the financial year ending June 30, 2024, until the expiry of the contract,” the company added.

At the close of trading, Uzma’s share price was up by 1 sen or 0.83% at RM1.21, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM468.55 million.
