Al Rajhi Bank appoints Syahrul Ishak as CEO

Syahrul is expected to take over the bank’s leadership from its chief risk officer, who served as interim CEO following the departure of Arsalaan Ahmed.

PETALING JAYA:
Al Rajhi Banking & Investment Corporation (Malaysia) Bhd has appointed Syahrul Ishak as CEO effective today.

In a statement, it said Syahrul will assume the bank’s leadership from Uzman Faleel, its chief risk officer who stepped up as interim CEO following the departure of Arsalaan (Oz) Ahmed.

Chairman John Roger Winfield said Syahrul’s accomplished career in banking, marked by strategic leadership, transformational drive, and operational excellence, would position him perfectly to guide the bank’s continued growth and success.

“The board of Al Rajhi bank and I look forward to a strong collaboration with Syahrul as we build on the momentum we have established,” he said.

The bank said Syahrul brings over 20 years of experience in the banking and finance sector with a proven track record of success.

Al Rajhi said he previously served as managing director (MD) and regional head of cash management and group transaction banking, as well as head of cards acquisition and personal financing, consumer banking at CIMB Bank, and MD and regional head of consumer banking at CIMB Islamic.
