Former judge Abu Samah Nordin now heads SC’s audit oversight panel

Abu Samah served in the judicial service from 1994 until his retirement in 2018.

Retired judge Abu Samah Nordin is now non-executive chairman of the audit oversight committee of the Securities Commission (SC).

In a media statement issued today, the regulatory body said Abu Samah began serving in his new position on Jan 5.

He takes over from Anantham Kasinather, who ended his three-year term as the committee non-executive chairman on Nov 30, last year.

Abu Samah was appointed judicial commissioner in 1994 before being elevated to high court judge two years later.

As high court judge, he served in Kuantan, Shah Alam and Melaka until 2007 when he was appointed judge at the criminal division of the Kuala Lumpur high court.

Abu Samah was elevated to the Court of Appeal and subsequently to the Federal Court where he served for five years until his retirement in 2018.
