
The global disposable glove producer said a new organisational structure and appointments were made to further strengthen the management team to support the company’s expanded distribution and future manufacturing footprint in the US market.
In a statement, Supermax announced the appointment of Tan Chee Keong (CK Tan) as its senior executive director and CEO effective Jan 2, 2024.
Tan has been with Supermax Group since 2000. He initially served as the vice-president of Aurelia Gloves, a division of Supermax Healthcare Inc and later as the CEO of Supermax Healthcare.
Tan has over 20 years of experience in the US healthcare glove market and was responsible for the execution of the company’s long-term growth and development as well as strategic planning and implementation of the company’s global marketing initiatives in Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, the UK, and the US.
Tan will continue to be the CEO of Supermax Healthcare Inc and Maxter Healthcare Inc in the US.
“In his new role, Tan will spearhead the company’s strategic plans and global business growth as it reorganises internally to ensure greater efficiencies are met for its next phase of manufacturing activities, including operations in the US,” it said.
Meanwhile, Tan Bow Kok or BK Tan, who has been with Supermax Group since 1999, will be appointed as the new chief operating officer and will oversee the manufacturing operation of Supermax Group and be assisted by a new deputy COO.
The group will also have a new chief quality assurance and regulatory affairs officer to ensure that quality assurance and global manufacturing operations are synergised for smoother marketing efforts moving forward.
Supermax continues to be helmed by its founder and group executive chairman Stanley Thai.
Its shares ended 9 sen or 9.78% higher at RM1.01 today, valuing the group t RM2.75 billion.
