Jorgen Rostrup to step down as CelcomDigi’s deputy chairman

His resignation is due to a reassignment of duties in Telenor ASA, says CelcomDigi.

KUALA LUMPUR:
CelcomDigi Bhd has announced the resignation of Jorgen Rostrup as the group’s deputy chairman, effective Oct 1, 2023.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, CelcomDigi said Rostrup’s resignation was due to a reassignment of duties in Telenor ASA.

Norway-based Telenor and Axiata Group Bhd are both the largest shareholders of CelcomDigi, with a 33.1% stake respectively.

Rostrup was appointed to the post on Dec 1, 2022. Currently, he is the executive vice-president and head of Telenor Asia.

Rostrup is also the chairman of the board of Grameenphone Ltd in Bangladesh and Total Access Communication PCL vice-chairman. Both companies are indirect subsidiaries of Telenor.

At market close, CelcomDigi’s share price was down by 6 sen (1.35%) at RM4.37, giving it a market capitalisation of RM51.3 billion.
