PETALING JAYA:
MYAirline Sdn Bhd’s sixth aircraft has been inducted into its fleet today, allowing the carrier to meet a growing demand for its products and services, said CEO Rayner Teo.

In a statement, he said the delivery was timely as it fits the airline’s policy of having a spare aircraft to meet its operational efficiency and on-time performance goal.

“We are also confident of improving operational efficiency by scheduling more frequencies to the existing routes as our seventh aircraft will be inducted very soon,” he said.

Teo said adding aircraft to MYAirline’s fleet was an important strategic decision that requires careful planning and consideration due to various factors such as market demand, financial viability, and operational efficiency.

“The induction of new aircraft requires planning and coordination to ensure that the aircraft meets all safety and performance requirements. Most importantly, it needs to be seamlessly integrated into existing operations,” he said.

With a total of 20 aircraft by end-2023, he said MYAirline is committed to expanding its domestic route network and starting its international flights in the region.

“We are looking forward to taking advantage of the growth opportunities with our commitment to expand in this region. This factor allows us to capture a share of the growing travel demand post-Covid-19 and expand our customer base in Asean,” he added.

Recently, the airline said it signed a deal for 17 Airbus A320-200 aircraft on a lease basis to meet a target of 20 narrow-body aircraft by the end of this year.
