PETALING JAYA:
Property and aviation group Sapura Resources Bhd posted a net profit of RM72.77 million for the financial year ended Jan 31, 2023 (FY2023) compared to a net loss of RM263.5 million in FY2022.

Full-year revenue increased 23.33% to RM55.71 million from RM45.17 million previously.

For the fourth quarter (Q4) of FY2023, the company posted a net profit of RM93.01 million from a net loss of RM102.90 million while revenue rose to RM15.51 million compared to RM10.90 million in the same quarter last year, mainly due to the higher revenue derived from the aviation and property segments.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said revenue in the aviation segment for Q4 FY2023 increased to RM9.67 million from RM4.80 million previously mainly due to the increase in aircraft management and rental revenue.

On prospects, it said the property and business aviation segments would continue to contribute towards the group’s revenue.

“In the meantime, the group is reviewing all its investment portfolio to ensure long-term viability, profitability and sustainability,” it said.

Sapura Resources is an investment holding and property investment company. It operates through four segments – investment holding, property investment, aviation and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO).

The group’s major shareholders include Shahril Shamsuddin, the founder of Sapura Energy Bhd, and his brother Shahriman, who is the MD of Sapura Resources.
