It is one of 17 Malaysian companies that have made it to the Financial Times’ (FT) Top 500 High Growth Companies in Asia Pacific 2023.
Other companies also on the list that was released today are florist Flower Chimp, healthy snacks retailer Signature Market and technology company Sophic Automation.
Ampersand also made it to the list of the fastest growing Malaysian companies, clocking in at fifth place.
Over and above that, it led the list of top players in the advertising and marketing industry. The only other entrant on the list is Influasia, an influencer marketing company.
Ampersand’s growth has been phenomenal. From 2018 to 2021, it registered a 190% growth, which worked out to a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 42%.
Co-founder and CEO Sandeep Joseph said the recognition by FT would spur his team to “re-dedicate ourselves to our clients”.
Sandeep credited his 60 staff for the recognition, attributing the success to their focus, hard work and innovation.
He noted that even during the Covid-19 pandemic, when people were forced to work from home, the company emerged stronger and more united.
He also expressed his appreciation for the support from its chairman Vincent Lee, a veteran in advertising and brand building.
Ampersand is the third company with links to Lee that has made it to the FT list. The others are online auto dealership Carsome and payments platform Soft Space.
Ampersand, which marked its sixth year in business in February, has won more than 50 awards, including Campaign Asia’s Independent Malaysia Agency of the Year from 2019 to 2022. It is also the Appies Asia Pacific Media Agency of the Year 2022.
Joseph said Ampersand’s success would spur the staff to live up to its tagline, “Business Results Now!”.
