Vietnam’s VinFast delivers first EVs to US customers

Customers will continue to receive their autos in dealerships or through a home-delivery service.

CALIFORNIA:
VinFast, an electric carmaker backed by Vietnam’s richest man, delivered its first 45 VF 8 City Edition electric SUVs to US customers at nine California showrooms March 1, according to an emailed statement from parent Vingroup JSC.

The vehicles will continue to be delivered to customers at VinFast’s stores or through a home-delivery service, it said.

The company did not say how many vehicles will be turned over to customers.

The VF 8 City Edition comes in both Eco and Plus models with an EPA-rated range of 207 miles and 191 miles, respectively, according to the statement. VinFast continues to organise large-scale test drive programmes across California, it said.
