PETALING JAYA:
Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX) has taken another step to improve its sustainability credentials.

The technology company launched its own initiative to improve its environmental, social and governance (ESG) management today with a view to creating long-term value for its stakeholders.

The initiative, called Sustainability @DNeX, will focus on sustainable development by balancing growth with environmental and social responsibilities while ensuring good governance.

DNeX executive chairman Syed Zainal Abidin Tahir said the effort to inculcate a sustainability mindset among its people would ensure that they are familiar with the importance of the company’s sustainability drive.

He said the company’s global presence through its interest in Ping Petroleum Ltd meant that it now has a greater responsibility “to act in ways that safeguard natural environments and local communities” in countries it now operates in.

DNeX is a global player in the semiconductor industry through its interest in Ping Petroleum.

The company said the sustainability initiative is a three-year effort to communicate its sustainability objectives through engagements with employees across the group.

“In addition, themes, targets, commitments and initiatives outlined in the framework are designed to be aligned with the various requirements published by investors and regulars,” Zainal added.
