
The fund will invest in shariah-compliant equities and related securities with exposure to the Chinese market, the investment bank said in a media statement today.
This will give its investors exposure to companies listed in China and Hong Kong as well as shariah-compliant securities listed in other markets with at least half of their core business and revenue derived from China.
Subscriptions to the fund is offered in US dollar as well as ringgit at the initial offer price of US$1 and RM1 per unit respectively during the initial offer period, the investment bank said.
AmBank Group CEO Sulaiman Mohd Tahir expressed confidence that awareness of and demand for such investments would grow significantly.
He said the value of Islamic finance assets globally is expected to expand to US$5.9 trillion (RM25.8 trillion) by 2026 from US$4 trillion (RM17.5 trillion in 2021.
AmFunds Management Bhd CEO Goh Wee Peng said the fund will be managed by AmInvest, while equity and fixed income markets expert CSOP Management Ltd (CSOP) has been appointed to be investment adviser for the fund.
