
Bursa set off on the new trading day at 1,476.39 points, just a breath higher than yesterday’s close of 1,476.38 points.
But bargain hunters returned to give it a boost, sending the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI up almost another two points to settle at 1,478.38 points 15 minutes into the day’s session.
In the forex market a renewed demand, spurred by some investors’ return to emerging currencies, saw the ringgit bounce back against the US dollar when business began this morning.
It was trading at 4.2935/4.2985 against the greenback just eight minutes into the new day, up from yesterday’s close of 4.2995/4.3055.
