The lab will train and develop local talents to support Borneo’s growth in the clean energy industry through learning programmes involving solar, green mobility, battery storage systems and green hydrogen.

“We hope the programmes offered under this collaboration are able to attract and enhance their employability,” said Chong Chern Peng, vice-president of Huawei’s Digital Power Business Unit.

The learning and talent partnership is intended to spur research, development collaboration and intellectual property creation in clean energy solutions.

This collaboration is part of Solarvest’s five-year strategic roadmap to transform into a regenerative clean energy expert as the group expands vertically in the industry.

“As envisioned by the Sarawak government to transform the state into a regional renewable energy powerhouse, this programme is timely in nurturing the talents needed for the industry to attain the vision,” said Solarvest Borneo director Leon Liew.

At the close of trading today, Solarvest Holdings’ share price rose 4 sen to 90 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM597.46 million.
