Changing of guard at accounting firm Crowe Malaysia

Lee Kok Wai to succeed Poon Yew Hoe at Malaysia’s fifth largest accounting firm.

Crowe Malaysia has 14 offices and employs 1,200 staff serving mid-to-large companies.

There will be a leadership transition at Malaysia’s fifth largest accounting firm Crowe Malaysia PLT which has appointed Lee Kok Wai as its new managing partner effective Jan 1.

Lee will be succeeding Poon Yew Hoe who has been at the helm for the past 15 years, since 2007. Poon will continue to serve as a member of the firm’s managing board of partners.

Lee has been part of the firm’s leadership since 2004 as head of audit for 18 years. He has also led multiple initial public offering (IPO) engagements for the floatation of companies on the LEAP, ACE and Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.

Poon said Lee was a leader with the drive and vision to move Crowe into its next chapter of growth. “I have faith that we have appointed the right leader to secure the company’s success,” he affirmed.

Lee said Crowe is well-positioned to support businesses expand and thrive in the current evolving landscape.
