Noraihan, who until now has served as its COO, succeeds Muhtar Suhaili, who resigned on Oct 1.

As CEO, she will oversee the strategic direction and drive sustainable growth.

Noraihan joined MTC as an officer in the market promotion division before being appointed its deputy director in 2010.

After serving for more than two decades in the division, she moved on to the corporate communications division in 2020 where she became its director.

She was appointed COO on March 1, this year. She will begin serving in her new position on Dec 1.

In a statement issued today, MTC described Noraihan’s promotion as a step in the right direction for an industry that has few women in the top ranks.

Muhtar will move on to the oil and gas industry as group COO of an integrated O&G solutions provider, also from Dec 1.
