According to the report, Nationwide Express’ head of strategic sales and marketing Syahrindah Azman said the discontinuation of its service was the result of a winding-up petition that was filed against it.
“We wish to put on record that we have always valued the business relationship that has existed between us over the years, and once again thank you for your support,” she was quoted as saying in a statement issued by the company.
Nationwide Express, founded in 1985 by Basir Ismail, also serves neighbouring countries Singapore and Brunei. It has about 150 branches and agents across the three countries.
As one of Malaysia’s leading courier service provider, the company handled more than 40,000 packages a day.
