U-Mobile ramps up home broadband with Time partnership

Telco expects a seven-fold increase in its household reach for high-speed broadband services.

The agreement allows U Mobile to expand the reach of its fibre broadband services via Time’s network.
KUALA LUMPUR:
Telecommunications companies U Mobile and Time dotCom (Time) have signed a collaboration agreement that will enable the former to exponentially increase the reach of its fibre broadband services to Malaysian homes.

Its partnership with Time will enable U Mobile to increase its Malaysian household reach by over 650%, especially in high-rise residential areas in major cities.

“Our latest partnership with Time is an affirmation to our commitment of expanding the reach of our high-speed fibre broadband services exponentially via Time’s footprint,” says U Mobile CEO Wong Heang Tuck, adding the company was innovating to bring even more home broadband plans and benefits to its customers.

Time executive director Lee Guan Hong said the company was happy to provide fast internet to U Mobile’s customers.

“Access to gig-speed connectivity on Time’s network has been open to internet service providers for a while now,” he said.

He added the company will continue improving on its infrastructure as it expands coverage across Malaysia.
