UEM Edgenta and ITMax strike smart city deal

Infrastructure solutions company and solution provider to offer security and surveillance solutions in public spaces in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia.

UEM Edgenta Bhd has teamed up with ITMax Systems Bhd to deliver smart city solutions in the UAE and Saudi Arabia as well as smart facilities monitoring and management programmes in Malaysia.

The business and technology strategic partnership was sealed in a memorandum of business exploration deal signed in Dubai on Oct 11.

Present at the signing ceremony were Malaysian consul-general to the UAE Fadly Amri, ITMax managing director and CEO William Tan and his counterpart at UEM Edgenta Syahrunizam Samsudin.

UEM Edgenta is an asset management and infrastructure solutions company while ITMax is a solution provider in the field of public space networked systems and related analytics intelligence.

In a statement issued to the media today, the two companies said they would focus on extending their respective solution offerings into smart security and surveillance, especially in public or community spaces.

With these solutions, township and municipality authorities will be able to react proactively to critical and emergency events.

UEM Edgenta, which has footprints in Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, the UAE and Saudi Arabia already has a RM10.5 billion order book, of which more than 70% are new contracts.
