Bank Mualamat Malaysia Bhd has appointed Khairul Kamarudin as its new chief executive officer, effective Nov 1, 2019, to replace the retiring Redza Shah Abdul Wahid.

Khairul, who has a Law Degree from Anglia Ruskin University, United Kingdom, has been the bank’s deputy chief executive officer for the past eight months.

“Khairul brings with him 22 years of experience in the financial industry, of which 14 were with Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd,” chairman Munir Majid said in a statement today.

“Bank Muamalat welcomes Khairul who comes with very good Islamic Banking credentials and looks forward to him steering the institution in the next phase of its development in an increasingly challenging environment,” he said.

“I would also like to express our gratitude to Redza, who served the Bank with distinction for the past 11 years, from trying times to establishing a strong foundation for its future progress,” he added.
