TRX City awards RM38.5 million contract to Gadang Engineering

Gadang will construct the main bridge deck over Jalan Sultan Ismail that will link the two sections.

KUALA LUMPUR: TRX City Sdn Bhd, the master developer of international financial district Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), has awarded Gadang Engineering (M) Bhd a RM38.5 million contract to build a vehicular and pedestrian bridge to connect its north and south parcels.

TRX is divided into two sections: the 23.07-hectare north parcel which is currently under construction, and the 5.26-hectare south parcel.

In a statement, TRX City said under the contract, Gadang will construct the main bridge deck over Jalan Sultan Ismail that will link the two sections.

“The 67m single-span bridge will include a cantilevered structure to accommodate a pedestrian walkway, and a utility corridor located within the truss system to host power and other utilities connections,” it said.

TRX will feature an integrated MRT interchange station that hosts the Sungai Buloh-Kajang line and the Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya line, which will be further supported by direct links to major thoroughfares such as Jalan Tun Razak, the MEX highway, SMART Tunnel and upcoming DUKE 3 (Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway).

The pedestrian connectivity in TRX via its North West Plaza off Jalan Imbi will also ensure a direct link between the financial district and Kuala Lumpur’s shopping belt in Bukit Bintang.
