QSR Brands awaiting approval for relisting

Johor Corporation (JCorp) says its subsidiary, which is the largest fast food operator in the country, is in the midst of getting internal approvals.

QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd is currently in the process of procuring all necessary internal approvals in relation to its proposed relisting, Johor Corporation (JCorp) said today.

“We regret any misunderstanding that could arise from the initial report as published,” it said in a statement here today.

JCorp was responding to a report in an English newspaper which stated that QSR Brands is eyeing relisting in November.

QSR Brands, Malaysia’s largest fast food operation, is best known as the operator of KFC, Pizza Hut and Ayamas fast food brands, with 1,268 outlets and more than 35,000 staff in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Cambodia.

It also manages a poultry farming segment that covers upstream and downstream interests.

QSR Brands reported a revenue of RM4.56 billion for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2017 (FY17), up from RM4.24 billion in FY16.
