KUALA LUMPUR: HeiTech Padu Bhd has been contracted by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to service its online transaction system, mySikap, for two years.

The contract is worth RM79.77 million, according to a report in The Star.

The systems integrator, which developed the RM282 million mySikap system with infrastructure support from IBM Malaysia, told Bursa Malaysia that it had received a letter of award from JPJ on Oct 28, which was accepted on Nov 1.

The contract is for the period from November 2016 to December 2018.

The homegrown IT company said any further renewal or extension would be at the government’s discretion, according to the report.

Transactions handled by mySikap include vehicle registrations, licence and road tax renewals, change of vehicle ownership and summons payments.

The Star reported that MySikap was rolled out nationwide in November 2013 to replace JPJ’s Sikap system that had been used since 1992.

HeiTech Padu expects the contract to contribute positively to the group’s future earnings. Last year the group made a net profit of RM1.21 million on revenue of RM376.24 million.
